Simply put, Virtual Jersey is a platform designed to capture, simulate and visualise data from across the island.
Starting out as a proof of concept Virtual and Augmented reality application, Virtual Jersey Beta is a real world test of 3D scanning, visualisation and data integration.
Built from the ground up by award winning local businesses and supported by Digital Jersey, this is a project started by and for the islanders of Jersey.
The Digital Twin comprises three key elements: a data platform populated with real-world and real-time data from myriad sources, a simulation which allows you to test theories and ideas in a completely safe setting, and a virtual reality experience to bring concepts to life.
This approach saves time and money, allows for innovative thinking to be put into virtual practice in a zero physical impact way, and offers instant calibration and modification until the right result is found.

Five local businesses came together to build a proof of concept application to allows users to explore a 3D map of Jersey, the new DJX IOT Lab and visualise real time data coming from the Lab itself.
This application was then launched on two cutting edge platforms using the latest hardware and technology available on the market.
All of which was completed in less than 2 months, from start to finish.
Would staggering school start times help ease traffic flows? Trialing it in the real world could cause massive upheaval, disruption and potential negative reaction.
